Funds of Rs 2050 crore released for construction of medical college

Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health Department Special Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy has sanctioned funds for the construction of new medical colleges in the state. Land will be purchased for Amalapuram, Eluru, Piduguralla, Madanapalli, Adoni and Pulivendula colleges for Rs 104.17 crore. In this context, the Special Chief Secretary has issued permission.

Jawahar Reddy said that 100-100 seats of MBBS will be provided in Paderu, Pulivendula and Piduguralla colleges in the state. Apart from this, 150 MBBS seats will be available in the Medical College of Machilipatnam.

Let us tell you that the government has decided to build a medical college in every parliamentary constituency. Administrative permissions have been issued in this order. Rs 500 crore sanctioned for setting up a medical college at Paderu in Visakhapatnam district, Pulivendula in YSR Kadapa district, Piduguralla in Guntur district and Rs 550 crore for the construction of a medical college at Machilipatnam in Krishna district.
