Universities and colleges closed due to Corona epidemic will start the academic session 2020-21 from November 1. Admissions will be made by October 31 in the first year of graduation and post-graduation. This year’s winter and next year’s summer holidays and other holidays will be cut while studying. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has stated in its guidelines that holidays will be cut for completion of courses due to delay in the session.
UGC releases new academic calendar, directs universities to end admissions process by 31 October
Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank gave this information by tweeting. According to the revised academic calendar released by the UGC, classes for the first-year undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be started from November 1.
The Commission has directed universities that the admission process for these courses will be terminated on 31 October. It has also been asked to run classes six days a week to complete studies. The new session will run in online, face-to-face classrooms and mixed modes. This educational calendar will also be applicable to technical colleges of AICTE.
CBSE should declare compartment examination as soon as possible so that students can enroll
The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to declare the results of compartment examinations of 10th and 12th classes at the earliest, so that students who have passed in the current academic year can enroll. CBSE has to inform the court about when the compartment examination results will be declared by Thursday. A bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Sanjiv Khanna has asked the University Grants Commission (UGC) not to release the academic calendar until September 24.
