Exploring the Uncharted: Pragyan Rover on the Lunar Surface

Exciting news awaits us as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) prepares to wake up the Chandrayaan-3’s rover, Pragyan, for a fresh set of assignments on the Moon’s surface! After completing its initial tasks, Pragyan had been put to sleep, conserving its energy during the lunar night, but now it’s time for the rover to embark on new adventures.

As the 14 days of daylight on the Moon come to an end, ISRO has taken the necessary precautions to ensure Pragyan’s safety. They have temporarily turned off the Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer and Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy payloads, allowing Pragyan to enter sleep mode. Fortunately, the rover’s battery is fully charged, and it eagerly awaits the next sunrise on the 22nd of September.
